Dr Emma Gilroy
Emma is a PDRA working with Tom Hayward, Dan Allwood and Nicola Morley as part of the EPSRC project “Controlling Acoustic Metamaterials with Magnetic Resonances: The Best of Both Worlds”, in collaboration with the University of Exeter. Emma joined the group in April 2020. She completed her PhD at the University of Bristol which investigated the potential application of uranium in spintronics.
Emma’s current focus is on device design and fabrication for production and detection of surface acoustic waves and their interaction with magnetic materials. She also utilises a variety of techniques to characterise such devices and their components.
